Networking in creative industries
Networking in creative industries typically means ways of communications between companies or workers. Communication and proper networking between departments is crucial since if you dont communicate and have no idea what others are doing, then what are you supposed to do? Simple e-mailing system within a company can reduce so much questions and headaches for workers. Simply passing on documents to one-another saves time and decreases amount of questions asked, since the questions are answered within the documents. Again, if a proper communcative system is established, people will their responses quicker.
Before sticking to one platform for potential employers, study where the company is most active. E.g Twitter,Facebook,LinkedIn etc. If you notice that on one platform, company updates come out faster than another (We will use LinkedIn as an example) then use LinkedIn. Usually that gives you a lower response time from the company you are interested in.
Promoting yourself through business cards, work etiquette and online presence may seem as a good start, but you have to be very informational because sometimes words can be misleading. For example "IT Development" if you post that on a business card, who will what exactly you will do? IT is a very broad and wide area of development. Instead of saying "IT Development" go for you specific area of work E.g "Ethical Hacking".
